Young Professional Stewardship Grant

Are you passionate about making a real difference in prairie conservation and endangered species management? The Young Professional Stewardship Grant empowers the next generation of conservation leaders to turn bold ideas into meaningful action.

Designed for aspiring and emerging professionals aged 18–30 who live and/or work in Manitoba, Alberta, or Saskatchewan, this grant supports innovative projects that inspire engagement, stewardship, and sustainability across the Grassland Regions of the Prairie Provinces.

You don’t need to be a student or graduate of an academic institution — we welcome applicants from all disciplines and backgrounds. Whether you’re working independently or connected to an organization, your vision matters.

We’re looking for creative, forward-thinking proposals that bring people together for conservation. Projects may explore:

  • Land management and ecology

  • Species-at-risk recovery and habitat enhancement

  • Education, community outreach, and citizen engagement

  • Integrated management approaches that balance the needs of multiple species and ecosystems

Successful proposals will demonstrate an understanding of the interconnectedness of prairie ecosystems and strive to ensure that helping one species does not come at the expense of another.

Take this opportunity to lead, innovate, and inspire conservation action across Canada’s prairies — and help shape a more resilient future for the landscapes and species we all depend on.
